Apple Turnover with Puff Pastry

Apple Turnover with Puff Pastry

Super simple yet deliciously satisfying these apple turnovers using puff pastry contain a lot of nostalgia for me. Sweet and crisp stewed apples with a dash of cinnamon (or pumpkin spice) and a handful of sultanas make these hand pies easy to make and easy to devour over and over and over again. A fine reason to keep a packet of ready rolled puff pastry in the freezer at all times.

Sourdough Slider Rolls

Sourdough Slider Rolls

These sourdough rolls are perfectly sized slider rolls but can easily be used as a dinner roll; they taste fantastic with a knob of butter dipped in your favorite soup or used to soak up the last morsels of a delicious curry. A bit of decadence with the addition of a sprinkling of tasty cheese over the top just prior to baking finishes these rolls of nicely and goes well with the tang of fresh sourdough bread. Unsurprisingly, these do not last long in our household.

White Lasagne (Tomato Free)

White Lasagne (Tomato Free)

This is the recipe for my tomato free white lasagne. Made with ground mince just like most lasagne I like to add a can of borlotti beans as well as plenty of cheese. Unlike most lasagne I like to add the cheese sauce or bechamel sauce to the bologna or meat sauce and adding it as a combined layer when assembling the lasagne. Also, the meat sauce is packed full of vegetables as well as tasty condiments like worchester sauce. This lasagne is a firm family favourite and as an added bonus it freezes and reheats (in oven or microwave) really well.

Sourdough Discard Chocolate Raspberry Biscuits

Sourdough Discard Chocolate Raspberry Biscuits

A sourdough discard recipe for delicious chocolate raspberry biscuits that are soft, fudge-like and full of complex flavours to tempt the interest of your taste buds. Browned butter combined with brown sugar give a welcomed caramelised sweet balance to the tartness of raspberries and the tang of sourdough starter. Admittedly, these biscuits may not be the most elegant or eye pleasing biscuits I’ve made but they sure make up for their ugliness with deliciousness. Addictive and too easy to just keep eating these sourdough discard biscuits are a must try.
