Frangipane tart is a classic french dessert. Here I have made it gluten free using my gluten free pastry recipe. The almond paste filling can be used with any fresh fruit and you can let your creative juices flow with how you want to arrange your fruit pieces.
This gluten free pastry is wonderfully short when cooked but easy to work and roll out with tart cases that hold together quite well. Perfect with some summer fruit compote inside or filled with frangipane mixture topped with fresh fruit. A definite crowd pleaser.
Quick and easy dinner with a delicious saucy base. Grab some dried pasta, a spare pumpkin (butternut or buttercup is best) and some fresh sage and get cooking with is epic crowd pleaser of a dish. Vegetarian and big enough to feed a small crowd you can even split the mixture into two oven dishes to eat one for tonight’s dinner and freeze the other for another day.
Using up a glut of spring onions or scallions is easy when you have this recipe up your sleeve. Quick and easy as well as tasty, these spring onion flatbreads make a great snack on their own or as a side dish alongside your next favourite curry or saucy dish for dinner.
Use up a good amount of courgettes by making this moist delicious chocolate cake. Try it next time you have a glut of courgettes and few blueberries in the freezer to get rid of.
This is the latest flavour infused homemade chilli oil that we are currently devouring in our household. Infused with a myriad of herbs and spices this makes a great hot pot base too.
Simple yet satisfying banana loaf. A great take on a somewhat classic tea cake. This recipe I make on a regular basis and freeze single serve portions to add as a lunchbox treat. An excellent recipe to use up any really ripe bananas you have on hand.
A walnut torte that is light and fluffy and can be made gluten free. A great way to use up excess walnuts this walnut torte is fantastic alongside a cup of tea. I like mine with just a dusting of icing sugar but feel free to add a dollop of cream and side of berries to fancy up this little treat with a bit of pizazz.
Super simple yet deliciously satisfying these apple turnovers using puff pastry contain a lot of nostalgia for me. Sweet and crisp stewed apples with a dash of cinnamon (or pumpkin spice) and a handful of sultanas make these hand pies easy to make and easy to devour over and over and over again. A fine reason to keep a packet of ready rolled puff pastry in the freezer at all times.
